Put your trust in quality tanking membrane

Put your trust in quality tanking membrane

The ingress of water into any construction often spells disaster for the entire project.

It’s essential, therefore, to put your trust in a high-quality material that works to create an impenetrable barrier against water.

The Visqueen Tanking Membrane range is a BBA certified range of highly durable watertight coverings made of modified bitumen rubber.

Resistant to groundwater in accordance with BS 8102:2009, these multi-functional membranes are suitable for a vast number of above and below ground applications – including basements, retaining walls, and lift pits.

They can also be applied to a variety of substrates, from blockwork and brickwork to concrete and steelwork.

tanking membrane

A membrane for every application

Versatility is at the very core of the Visqueen Tanking Membrane range. Depending on your requirements, there are several options available –

• Self-Adhesive (supplied in rolls 1m x 20m)
Visqueen Self Adhesive Membrane is the ‘standard’ product within the range and can be used to achieve waterproofing to Grades 1, 2 and 3 (as with all other varieties).

Thanks to the self-adhesive coating, this cold applied product is easy to detail, easy to install on-site, and can act as both a radon and a damp proof membrane.

• Gas Resistant (supplied in rolls 1m x 20m)
Like the ‘standard’ version, the Visqueen Gas Resistant Membrane is a cold applied product that is highly waterproof and flexible.

The added benefit comes in the form of a foil lining, which makes it suitable for use in all types of buildings to prevent the ingress of harmful levels of ground gases. This includes methane, carbon dioxide, and radon.

• Torch On (supplied in rolls 1m x 8m)
The gas resistant Torch On Membrane is the most comprehensive product in the range.

Unlike the others, it’s a heat bonded product with a heat dispersible film on the underside. This makes it most ideal for cold and damp conditions.

When applied as a two-layer system, this product is suitable for use in below-ground structures where high levels of hydrostatic pressure exist and for waterproofing podium decks. It can also be used as a single layer system as a horizontal damp proofing membrane.

ACS 3000: One Frame Cramp for multiple applications

ACS 3000: One Frame Cramp for multiple applications

When completing a construction project, purchasing multiple frame cramps for various structures and substrates can add time and unnecessary complexity to a process that should be straightforward.

So, what if we told you that we supply our customers with one frame cramp that can fulfil a range of applications on-site?

The ACS 3000 Range Tie is a truly universal frame cramp purposefully designed with ease of use in mind.

Made of high-grade austenitic stainless steel, this multi-purpose tie has been independently tested and shown to be inherently stronger than the traditional style cramps available on the market today.

Purposefully Designed

This multi-purpose frame cramp is a conventionally fixed tie that incorporates several unique design features.

These features make for a versatile and high load-bearing solution to building stability.

One Frame Cramp

One Frame Cramp (1)

A Product You Can Trust

Having a unique and purposefully designed product means nothing if it hasn’t been thoroughly tested and certified as reliable.

With the ACS 3000 Range Tie, you can be sure you’re purchasing a high-quality product that has met the following approvals and standards:

> BS EN 846-6 (load capacity)

When tested in accordance with BS EN 846-6 for the determination of tensile and compressive load capacity, the frame cramp has an impressive, declared load capacity of 1.0kN (at the lowest point of the slot).

> Lucideon Tested (dynamic Stiffness)

Tests performed at Lucideon proved that the 3000 Range Tie has a measured dynamic stiffness of 8.8MN/m3 in a 100mm cavity. Therefore, it is classed as a Type B tie in line with the guidance of Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.

Additional approvals and standards include:

  • Independently tested at Sheffield University’s Civil and Structural Engineering Department and shown to be inherently stronger than the traditional style cramps available today
  • BS EN 845-1 compliant
  • CE marked (EN 845-1)

Non-Combustible Damp Proof Course

Non-Combustible Damp Proof Course

A high-quality and fully compliant damp proofing system needs to protect from more than the ingress of water. It must also safeguard building inhabitants from the preventable spread of fire.

The Visqueen Non-Combustible Damp Proof Course (DPC) is a flexible 0.6mm composite DPC and cavity tray system made entirely of non-combustible materials, making it fully compliant with the building regulations of England, Wales, and Scotland.

Supplied in 20m length rolls and various widths, this lightweight yet tear-resistant system is suitable for all cavity wall constructions, regardless of height, that include a masonry outer leaf.

The complete range

The Visqueen NC DPC system is made up of several components, all of which have been tested and certified non-combustible:

Visqueen Range

When used together, this system is suitable for all wall constructions, including residential, commercial, and multi-storey buildings, where a cavity tray is required. This includes:

  • As a Jamb DPC
  • As a site formed built-in or a surface fixed cavity tray
  • At complex or awkward junctions (when using the Preformed Units)

Providing the ultimate fire resistance

The system achieves a reaction to fire classification A2 – s1, d0, meaning:

  • It is non-combustible (A2)
  • It results in little or no smoke propagation within the first 10 minutes of exposure (s1)
  • It results in no flaming droplets and particles within the first 10 minutes of exposure (d0)

This makes the system fully compliant with the requirements of The Building Regulations 2010 (England and Wales) (as amended) and The Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (as amended).

It has also been independently tested and certified as non-combustible by Warrington Fire.

Other approvals and standards

  • CE Mark EN 14909:2012 – Flexible sheets for waterproofing
  • Shear strength tested to BS EN 1052-4:2000 Methods of test for masonry – Part 4
  • Flexural mortar bond strength tested in accordance with DD 86-1:1983
  • Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015
  • Occupational Health and Safety System ISO 18001:2007
  • Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015

Metfast: The versatile solution to secure masonry cladding

Metfast: The versatile solution to secure masonry cladding

Fixing your masonry cladding securely to the main structure of a building is essential in ensuring stability, and wall channels play an important role in this process.

Made of a high-grade Austenitic Stainless Steel, the Metfast Ultra Channel is designed to securely tie the outer leaf of a cavity wall to either concrete or SFS via pre-punched holes.

These holes, which are spaced 112.5mm apart, ensure that a fixing point is always located near the end of the channel, thus reducing the need for continual drilling on site.

Versatile Application

The Metfast Ultra Channel is used as an adjustable fixing system that can be tied to either SFS or concrete. The installation process differs slightly between the two applications…

Metfast Installation

Ensure a safe and secure brickwork facade… with the Metfast Ultra Channel System

.

Adaptable Usage

  • Supplied in 2.7m lengths which can be easily cut on-site
  • Features pre-punched holes at close centres to ensure a fixing position is always located near the end
  • The wall ties can be positioned at any point along the channel to suit the coursing of the masonry panel

Metfast Ultra Stainless Steel

The advanced material forming process of the Austenitic Stainless Steel provides a range of performance-enhancing benefits, including:

  • Added strength
  • Increased load-carrying capacity
